On April 18th, Brisbane witnessed the power of music and camaraderie at the Music4Mates fundraiser, orchestrated by Paul Baxter and his band, Split Decision. The event, held at The Triffid, brought together music enthusiasts and supporters of Mates4Mates, raising close to $12,000 for the charity.

The electrifying atmosphere, fuelled by rock music, resonated with attendees, showcasing their unwavering support for veterans and their families. David Hardenberg (from Musted Media) and Tim Floyd Photography captured the essence of the night through stunning videography and imagery, immortalising the memorable moments shared by all.

Paul Baxter’s tireless efforts in organising the event deserve special recognition, as does the generosity of the sponsors whose contributions made the fundraiser possible. There’s already talk of a repeat performance next year.

Mates4Mates, a prominent veteran charity, stands to benefit greatly from the funds raised. In 2023 alone, the organisation provided over 38,300 instances of support to veterans and their families, offering vital services ranging from physical rehabilitation to mental health support.

The event served as a reminder of the power of community and solidarity in supporting those who have served our nation. As the night concluded, organisers expressed gratitude to all attendees and donors, emphasising the collective impact of their contributions.

With the success of Music4Mates echoing through the community, the stage is set for future events to continue making a difference in the lives of veterans and their loved ones.
