PAC Supports MH-60R Australia Bushfire Response

PAC Supports MH-60R Australia Bushfire Response

During Operation Bushfire Assist, the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) MH-60R helicopters were deployed to engage in firefighting efforts during the bushfires in the South Coast region— an effort which PAC was proud to support. Based out of HMAS Albatross, the MH-60R SQN deployed its Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance capabilities to assess and map fire movements.

Specifically, the PAC team valued the opportunity to provide direct support to the fleet, working side-by-side with RAN operators to support the fight to extinguish the bushfires. Our team provided 24/7 Mission Planning support and ensured that the Tactical Datalink network was operationally suitable to support communications.

MH-60R crews worked tirelessly to augment firefighting efforts throughout eastern Australia, often flying overnight, daily, to evaluate the fires and perform SAR operations. While the task was daunting, the PAC team found that being able to contribute to the effort was a rewarding experience. “This effort demonstrated my team’s commitment not only to the ADF, but to their community. We could not be more proud of their dedication and fearlessness, when faced with an unprecedented crisis” shared Lacee Essex, Director of Operations.

If you’re looking for the opportunity to contribute to the ADF in a team-oriented environment, our Nowra team are now seeking an additional Mission Planning Systems Technician to join them. It’s an exciting time to be on the PAC team! Click HERE to view the job posting and apply.
