We are proud to announce that we’re now a Platinum Pledge Partner of Soldier On—this acknowledges our active commitment to enable veterans and their families to find long-term, meaningful careers in collaboration with the Soldier On Pathways program.
Established in 2012, Soldier On is a not-for-profit veteran support organisation delivering services to veterans and their families in Australia. These include health and wellbeing programs, employment support, education support programs, and social connection activities.
With the support of Soldier On, we found the ideal candidate to fill our Logistics Specialist position in Williamtown. Supporting our ICSI team, Jodi Denovan brought her 15-year experience from the Australian Air Force to PAC.
“I only left Defence 12 months ago. My transition has been awesome due to Soldier On’s support (Karen Gallaher). I started looking for opportunities through the organisation in late 2021, and within a week, I was in an interview with Pacific Aerospace Consulting. My qualifications and logistics knowledge ticked many boxes for what the company was looking for in a candidate. PAC supports Defence in the communication link between aeroplanes, vessels and ground equipment—basically, the airspace while jets fly. I feel like I’m doing a very similar role as I did in Defence, but not wearing the uniform. The company has been great so far, very supportive”, Jodi explains.
Like many other veterans, Jodi wanted more stability in her family life. She moved to Newcastle 4 years ago with a posting, and she fell in love with the city. “My husband is still in the Air Force but will transition within the next few years. I have three daughters, two are in Sydney, and my youngest is studying Occupational Therapy at Newcastle University—she has fallen in love with the city as well”.
As a veteran-owned business, veterans are at the heart of our organisation and comprise almost 80% of our workforce. PAC recognises the skill sets and experience that they carry—it’s vital to our success in supporting Defence. We seek to provide meaningful opportunities for veteran employees now and into the future. Our current job opportunities can be viewed on our website, LinkedIn and Seek.
We’ll be at the Pathways Networking Event in Newcastle this Tuesday
(15 March), at the Stockton RSL Club, from 6 pm to 7.30 pm.
